Melissa Ordway Reveals What It’s Really Like Working With Eric Braeden on Y&R (EXCLUSIVE)

Tags:

Victor Newman has been such a commanding presence on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS for so long that some fans may find themselves wondering if actor Eric Braeden is as intimidating as the character he has played for decades. Well, his on-screen daughter, Melissa Ordway (Abby), told Soaps In Depth that the two men couldn’t be more different! “He’s such a teddy bear!” she enthused of her castmate. “He’s one of my favorite people. We always laugh and have a good time whenever we have scenes together.”

Abby was born in 2000 (remember when Ashley secretly stole Victor’s sperm to get pregnant with their daughter?) and Ordway didn’t take over the role until 2013. But because Braeden first appeared on Y&R as Victor back in 1980, he has a wealth of experience in both daytime and show business in general to share. And Ordway is more than happy to listen to anything her on-screen pop has to say about the biz.

“He really knows his character so well,” she confides. “He has such a strong viewpoint about the storyline and the relationship Victor has with his children and the other characters on the canvas. He’s really a cheerleader for all of the characters on this show. I always feel like Eric wants what is best for the scene and the characters. He’s awesome and I can’t say enough good things about him!”
