Warning her teenaged self about a young boy she liked, Sursok wrote, “Not only does he not have any giddy interest in you, but he will verbalize in front of everyone that you are indeed ‘fat’ and after he miniaturizes you, he will parade away. And you will feel like the lights just blasted and you are standing on a stage, naked, in all your quarter-pounder glory.”
Continuing, she advises herself not to give up because change is coming. “Your body will change, not because you are mimicking perfection,” Sursok wrote. “But because you will regard it as a vessel that needs to be treated with respect. A figure that will ultimately swell and magnify as it carries your unborn child.
“But I’m here,” the actress and mom concludes, “standing on the sidelines, looking at you, my 13-year-old self and I want you to know you’re going to be more than okay.”
In an Instagram post where she shared some photos of herself as a teenager, Sursok promised her fans that they can change their lives and escape painful situations. “It just takes one positive step in the right direction,” she declared. “Just one step. I love you all and I truly believe in every one of you.”
Sursok definitely changed her own life, becoming a successful actress appearing in the Australian soap HOME AND AWAY, Y&R, and PRETTY LITTLE LIARS among other roles, marrying boyfriend Sean McEwen in 2011, and giving birth to her daughter, Phoenix, in 2013.
