The new year is here, and as all soap fans know, holidays can mean schedule changes for THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL, DAYS OF OUR LIVES, GENERAL HOSPITAL, and THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS. So we’re here to fill you in on the schedule changes so you don’t miss a single episode of the drama, romance, and excitement on any of your favorite shows!
B&B will be airing repeats on both Dec. 31, and Jan. 1, although the Monday encore episode will be preempted on the West Coast due to CBS Sports coverage of NCAA Football’s Sun Bowl. But B&B will be back in business on Wednesday to set up for its 8,000th episode airing on Friday, Jan. 4. If you’re a Y&R fan, don’t forget to set your DVR because all-new episodes will be airing over the holiday. And keep in mind that on the West Coast, the Jan. 31 episode will air at 10 a.m. PT due to CBS Sports coverage of the Sun Bowl. NBC sudser DAYS will also be airing a brand new episode on New Year’s Eve, but will be preempted on Tuesday, Jan. 1.
On Monday, Dec. 31, GH fans won’t have to worry about missing any of the latest drama in Port Charles because the soap will be airing an encore presentation of a classic episode from 21 years ago! In this special New Year’s Eve show that originally aired on Dec. 31, 1997, Carly’s baby had just been born and Tony thought he might be the father even though everyone was told it was Jason. Jax and Brenda rang in the new year in a decidedly ordinary fashion, and after being rejected by Nikolas, Sarah joined Liz, who was missing Lucky. You’re going to want to enjoy that blast from the past, because GH is preempted entirely on Tuesday, Jan. 1, for sports programming.
All four soaps will be back to normal on Wednesday, Jan 2, so enjoy ringing in the New Year with your real-life friends and family then get ready for all the drama, romance, and adventure waiting for you in 2019!
