Y&R's Melissa Ordway Celebrates Daughter Sophie's Second Birthday

As she prepared to celebrate her young daughter Sophie’s second birthday, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS star Melissa Ordway (Abby) reflected back on the unforgettable moment of her birth. “Two years ago was one of the scariest but best days of my life,” she shared on Instagram. “Sophie wasn’t supposed to be born for another five weeks but she surprised us early when I had a placental abruption.

“Sophie, you are strong and smart, gentle, kind, and funny,” the proud mom continued. “You have the sweetest laugh that is contagious. We love you more than you’ll ever know. Thank you for letting me be your mom. It is an honor. Happy second birthday, Googy!”

While Dec. 9 marked Sophie’s actual birthday, Ordway and hubby Justin Gaston (ex-Ben, DAYS OF OUR LIVES) threw their little girl a Frozen-themed birthday party one day earlier on Sunday. Sophie was dressed up as Princess Anna, there were special decorations and delicious treats, and Elsa and Anna themselves were on hand to help sing “Happy Birthday!” You can see multiple photos and a video of the singing by swiping through mom’s Instagram post below.
