A mystery man named Rey has appeared in Genoa City as popular daytime actor Jordi Vilasuso joined the cast of THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS in the episode that aired on Aug. 17. And it looks as though Rey will be a new piece of the puzzle that brings the J.T. storyline back into sharp focus. Just as the women thought they'd gotten away with their crime, Rey has connected each one of them to the missing J.T.. Might he be the one to unearth the truth? (Maybe even literally!)
Vilasuso made his daytime debut as Tony Santos on GUIDING LIGHT back in 2000, and in 2003 won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actor for his work on the soap. He left in 2003 and found success with roles on primetime series like NUMB3RS, FASHION HOUSE, and 8 SIMPLE RULES FOR DATING MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER. In 2010, he joined the cast of ABC sudser ALL MY CHILDREN as Griffin Castillo, also appearing on the short-lived online revival after its cancellation.
After roles in the films Circle and The Invitation, Vilasuso joined DAYS OF OUR LIVES as a recast of the villainous Dario Hernandez in 2016, leaving in 2017 when his character’s schemes came crashing down around him and he went into hiding.
It looks as though Rey may be on the right side of the law compared to Vilasuso's previous characters as he works to piece together the mystery of J.T.'s disappearance and who, exactly, was involved in it. And of course, with the lovely ladies of Genoa City there to catch his eye, perhaps Rey will enjoy a little pleasure along with his business? Also, he has revealed that he is Arturo's older brother and while it's clear there's no love lost between the siblings, what secrets are they hiding? You’ll have to stay tuned to find out!
