Devon Hamilton wanted to know what his sister, Ana Hamilton, was doing with all her money and suspected she was in serious debt. But after following her to a motel, he discovered that she was actually funding medical treatments for her father. And much to Devon’s surprise, her father turned out to be former R&B star Jett Slade! However, he is in poor health and needs constant care from his nurse, Elena Dawson. Devon invited them both to move into the penthouse with him and Ana, and Jett accepted. He was reluctant to agree to Devon's suggestion that he get back into music and go on tour, but after performing at the opening of Society, Jett changed his tune, so to speak, and left town to keep performing. Unfortunately, in October, Elena received a call and learned that Jett might have cancer.
