THE TALK Goes In Depth!

Soaps In Depth‘s own Michael Maloney is a guest on today’s episode of THE TALK! “We’ve been working at putting together a time when we could do a book giveaway with The Young and Restless Life of William J. Bell and THE TALK’s studio audience,” says Maloney, who authored the tome along with Bell’s wife, Lee Phillip Bell. “And the Daytime Emmys seemed like a perfect time to do that. It was very cool to see [host] Julie Chen hold up the book and hear her say that everyone in the studio audience was getting a copy, a perfect example of CBS Daytime synergy.”

The women of THE TALK ask Maloney to weigh in on who’ll take home the gold this Sunday at the Daytime Emmys. “This is one of the hardest years to predict since there so many great performances,” he says. “I’m predicting that there will be a tie in one category.”

“Also, Swoosie Kurtz (MIKE & MOLLY; Ellie, AS THE WORLD TURNS) is a guest on the show,” Maloney adds. “She recounts a funny story about her days as an actress just starting out in New York City and how she auditioned — but failed to land — a role on a soap opera where she would have played a corpse!”
