The Bauers Are Soap Classics
The Bauer Family was the heart of GUIDING LIGHT all the way from its days as a 15-minute radio soap in the late ’40s and continued to be so right up until the final episode in 2009. And now Soap Classics is honoring Springfield’s “First Family” with a special 2-disc DVD set that features episodes of GL from 1973 to 2009.
The first disc contains five episodes including Mike and Ed rescuing Holly in Santo Domingo, Bert and Josh dealing with dual tragedies and Danny and Michelle’s wedding. There is also a special bonus episode from 1973 where Bert and Meta organize a memorial service for Papa Bauer.
Disc two is a celebration of the Bauer Barbecue, featuring five episodes of the annual family gathering, starting in 1987 where the show was also celebrating its 50th anniversary, and closing out with the final Bauer Barbecue in 2009.
GUIDING LIGHT: The Bauer Family Story is available at SoapClassics.com for $19.99, and while you’re there ordering your set, be sure to check out the bonus streaming episode of Rick and Melanie’s 1988 wedding!
