Steve Burton Reveals Whether He Would Return to Daytime!

Tags:

Steve Burton took to Periscope to answer questions from his fans, and while most of them were regarding his new business, Burton Nutrition, there were still plenty of fans wondering if he was going to come back to THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS as Dylan or GENERAL HOSPITAL as Jason!

“Never say never about daytime,” Burton admitted. “Have I ever considered a nighttime sitcom? Sure. But I live in Tennessee.” Then he laughed and added, “I’m geographically undesirable right now.”

Burton owns a restaurant in Tennessee with former GH castmate Jonathan Jackson (ex-Lucky), and a fan suggested he could appear on Jackson’s current series, NASHVILLE, which shoots on location there. Burton admitted he would totally go on that show, but joked, “Don’t know if they have my phone number, though.”

While the acting opportunities in Tennessee are limited, Burton declared, “I don’t consider going back to L.A. Acting is great, and I love it, and it’s a passion, and I’ll probably keep acting, but right now I’m focused on Burton Nutrition.”

Burton likes his new business because it helps people get fit in a way that doesn’t rely on yo-yo diets. “That’s what I’m trying to do,” he said. “Get people to kind of wrap their minds around the correct way of eating because they can work it into their life. And it’s not about being super-strict where you can’t enjoy life. It’s about getting to a point where you’re happy with yourself and your body, which is very important.”

With the Daytime Emmy Awards coming up, the actor admitted that he hasn’t yet decided if he’s going to attend this year’s ceremony. But while he’s focusing on his nutrition and fitness business, Burton admits he does miss show biz — and his GH role of Jason Morgan. “Of course!” he declared. “He was a part of my life for 21 years. You always have an affinity for any character that you play.”

He didn’t rule out a return to Port Charles in the future, either. “I’ve learned a lot in my lifetime, and that’s never to say never about a daytime role,” Burton confided. “Because I love it, and we’ll see what happens. I’m not auditioning right now. I’ve got some things in the works. Who knows? Of course I miss acting.”
