The entertainment community was devastated by the sudden death of Alan Thicke at the age of 68 from a heart attack, and some daytime stars who worked with the show biz icon expressed their feelings on social media.
“When you meet one of your idols and they are even nicer and cooler than you hoped they would be,” shared Justin Hartley (ex-Adam, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS) who appeared with Thicke in the first episode of THIS IS US. “That was Alan Thicke. Rest in peace.”
GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Dominic Zamprogna (Dante) shared the screen with the television legend in the 1992 TV movie The Trial of Red Riding Hood. “RIP Alan Thicke,” he tweeted. “I got to play his son in my second acting job as a kid. He was a great guy and a true talent.”
John Stamos (ex-Blackie, GH) shared a recent pic of himself with Thicke, confiding, “Damn. Loved this guy. Loved his self-deprecating sense of humor. Charming, funny, and sweet. Hell of a combo. We’ll miss you, Alan Thicke.”
Bradford Anderson (Spinelli, GH) was shocked by Thicke’s passing having just encountered the actor at a celebrity convention. “So sad,” he tweeted. “We saw him last month at Rewind Con in Chicago, and he was so kind, generous, and full of life.”
“Alan Thicke played my dad in a movie I did a few years back,” shared John DeLuca (Aaron, GH), of his co-star in the 2012 comedy Hemmingway, “and was just as sweet/kind as you’d hope.”
Thicke’s ex-wife, Gloria Loring (ex-Liz, DAYS OF OUR LIVES) took to Facebook to reach out to fans. “Thank you for your kindness concerning Alan Thicke’s passing,” she wrote. “It is a shock. We were all just together for Thanksgiving. He was talented, funny, and deeply devoted to his family. Rest in peace, dear one.”
Our thoughts are with all of Thicke’s friends, family, and loved ones during this difficult time.
