Soap Alum Fights For His Life

Tags:

UPDATE: In a post made earlier today, Jackson wrote that, “Nate was able to decide and express very clearly this morning that he is not going to give up without a fight. He is going into surgery at 3:00 this afternoon. The goal is to get him breathing on his own. The doctor said that there is a good chance that he will recover the use of upper body movement and a slim chance that he will walk again. Recovery will take 2 or more years, but where there is life there is hope. Nate has never walked away from a fight and he is determined to win this one. Please pray for Nate’s full and complete recovery. Both Nate and I appreciate your love prayers and support.”

On Friday, October 30, AS THE WORLD TURNS alum Nathaniel Marston (Eddie; Al/Michael, ONE LIFE TO LIVE) was involved in a horrific car accident near Reno, NV, and the actor is now on life support in the intensive care unit. According to several Facebook posts made by his mother, Elizabeth Jackson, over the weekend, Marston’s neck and back were broken, as were all of his ribs and a shoulder. He suffered several internal injuries as well, including a collapsed lung. “In all likelihood, if he lives, he will be paralyzed from the neck down and will not breathe without a ventilator machine,” she wrote. “Oh my God, please give me strength.”

Although Marston has had problems with drugs in the past, Jackson noted that her son wasn’t under the influence at the time of the accident. “In case the rumor mill gets going, Nate was sober, according to cops,” she wrote.

Our thoughts are with Marston’s family, and we hope the actor makes a full recovery.
