In unexpected casting news, Pierson Fodé is leaving THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL! A rep for the soap confirmed his exit, and revealed that he will last air on Thursday, Sept. 14. "We wish Pierson much success in all of his future endeavors," they said in a statement. The actor explained his decision in a heartfelt Instagram post to fans. “The decision to say goodbye to B&B didn’t come easily but with sleepless nights and countless questions,” he admitted. “What a surreal experience to have but ultimately I have to go where my heart leads me. It’s what we all have to do.
“I can’t be more thankful to have had a boss like Brad Bell who understood and encouraged my decision to explore,” he added. “Thank you to every hard working soul at CBS Daytime and B&B who let me work beside you. And thank you to all the fans that not only accepted me but championed me through my time on the show. Thank you for allowing me into all of your lives and I hope you follow me on my journey to new things.”
Fodé joined the cast of B&B in July of 2015 as the latest recast of Thomas Forrester, following Adam Gregory and Drew Tyler Bell. In recent storylines, Thomas fell in love with Sally Spectra and left Forrester to bankroll Spectra Fashions and work with the upstart company to help them succeed in the fashion industry. Of course, things got complicated when Bill lied to him that Caroline was dying in order to get him to leave Sally so she could fail on her own.

After growing up on a farm in Washington, Fodé followed his dreams of show business by becoming a model with Wilhelmina Models and later breaking into acting. His big break came in 2012 when he appeared in a Halloween episode of the Nickelodeon sitcom ICARLY. During a break from B&B last fall, Fodé starred in the movie It’s Time, based on the real life story of a friendship between two football players that resulted from a tragic accident. Currently in post-production, the film has no release date scheduled.
With Thomas currently involved in a front-burner storyline on B&B, it seems an inopportune time for the character to leave the canvas. Although a recast would allow the writers to continue telling Thomas' story, there has been no announcement regarding that yet. Fodé seemed to think a recast was probable as he joked: “At some point, I will likely have to pass the baton of Thomas to another hideous-looking guy. But when the time comes for him to step into my shoes, I hope my performance will haunt him for the rest of his life.” As soon as we have more information about that possibility, we’ll be sure to let you know. So stay tuned!
