Since Noah has left Genoa City to work for Newman overseas, that means portrayer Robert Adamson has left THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, and it could be the last we see of the actor and his alter ego for a while. “I want to say thank you for all the support I’ve received over more than five years portraying Noah Newman,” Adamson shared on Instagram. “The cast and crew truly became my family. While I don’t believe this is officially goodbye, Noah will not be back to Genoa City in the near future.
“I will personally be back any time they wish,” the actor added, “schedule permitting. That said, as the great Russell Hornsby once told me, ‘The job always ends.’ I’ve always tried to live by that mantra and to see every end as a new beginning. Actors start fresh every time. It’s one of the great blessings of my job. Hope to be back as Noah one day, but looking forward to inhabiting new and exciting characters in the future!”
Sharon and Nick’s son had been played by a series of child actors before being aged and portrayed by Kevin Schmidt and Luke Kleintank. Adamson stepped into the role of Noah Newman in October of 2012, but in 2016, he was bumped from contract status with Y&R down to recurring.

Despite being part of one of the core families in Genoa City, Noah tended to drift towards the back burner more often than not. His major storylines usually revolved around ill-fated romances like his relationship with Courtney, who was murdered, and Tessa, who he dumped after discovering she’d kissed his sister, Mariah. Although Adamson did have some very strong material when Noah accidentally ran over Billy Abbott with his car.
Characters on sister soap THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL are often dispatched by going to work at one of the overseas branches of Forrester, and it looks as though Y&R has done the same with Noah. There’s every chance that he could still come back to Genoa City for the holidays like Traci Abbott has done many times over the years. Or he could just disappear, never to be seen again like Summer Newman.
