Jill’s heart attack was a big, dramatic storyline on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, but fans of the soap were a little surprised when she forgave Colin so quickly and invited him to travel the world with her. It also left them wondering: “Is Jill leaving Y&R?”
Tristan Rogers (Colin) took to Twitter to break the bad news to fans regarding his status and that of co-star Jess Walton (Jill). “Glad you all liked the end of that storyline,” he posted. “There are no plans for this couple to reappear, so they’ll be away for a while.”
When fans expressed their dismay that one of the soap’s vets was leaving the show, Walton reassured them it wasn’t forever. “Jill isn’t going anywhere,” she tweeted. “Just taking some time off and awaiting the birth of my third grandchild. Love Y&R and all of you!”
Then she teased fans with a follow-up tweet a few hours later previewing, “Be watching for Jill and Colin in June, bucket list finished?!?”

Because of his recurring status with the show, Rogers has come and gone from Y&R multiple times since he joined the soap back in 2010. He wrapped up a stint back in September of 2016, but then returned again in December for some episodes, and January for this most recent storyline.
However, Walton has been appearing on Y&R regularly since she joined the soap in 1987 as Jill Abbott, taking over for Brenda Dickson. She won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 1991 and brought home Outstanding Lead Actress in 1997. She and her husband, John James, reside on a ranch in Oregon, and she recently shared some of the spectacular scenery she enjoys there.

Rogers’ tweet says that Colin and Jill will be away “for a while,” but Walton's tweet suggests the pair will be back in June, so we're hoping that she's the one who's right, because we can't imagine Genoa City without them!
