Gaston Moves In!

Who could forget Jesse Katsopolis, aka the front man for Jesse & The Rippers and the beloved uncle of the adorable, motherless children on ABC’s long-running comedy, FULL HOUSE? Certainly not Justin Gaston (ex-Ben, DAYS OF OUR LIVES), who grew up watching the show in syndication. Now, he’s starring as the iconic character’s portrayer, John Stamos (ex-Blackie, GENERAL HOSPITAL), in the Lifetime original movie, _ The Unauthorized Full House Story_, airing Saturday, August 22, at 8:00 p.m. EST.

“I was a fan of the show — the writing was really good — and I thought that other stuff like the hair and the catchphrases made Uncle Jesse a lovable character,” Gaston relates. “Even though in the beginning, he was a really rough, biker/musician, the way he interacted with the girls [showed] his sweet, soft side, which was really funny.”

While on screen, Jesse found love with Rebecca (played by UnREAL’s Stephanie Bennett in the film), behind the scenes, Stamos’ love life played out famously in the media. It’s a situation that Gaston, who is now wed to THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS’ Melissa Ordway (Abby), can relate to. “It’s about the cast’s rise to fame,” he says of the movie, “while dealing with their personal lives and juggling the success of the show at the same time.”

More than anything, the film is about the friendships, both on camera and behind it, and the memories they created. “It’s really positive and well done,” Gaston suggests. “If you were a fan of FULL HOUSE, you’ll really enjoy this.”
