Daniel Goddard Returns to THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS After a Serious Illness!

Tags:

Fans of THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS can breathe a sigh of relief because Daniel Goddard (Cane) is on the mend and feeling much better after being sidelined with a terrible infection for a couple weeks! The actor popped up on social media to reveal that he hadn’t been posting for a while because of his illness but was now back in fighting form… and back to work at Y&R! “After being bed-ridden with a bacterial infection for the last two weeks,” he posted, “it’s good to be back!”

Although there’s no word from the soap as to whether Goddard’s absence will impact Cane’s screen time or if they were able to shoot around it, the actor’s brief break came during a time when rumors are swirling online that he is being written out of the show. So it’s good to see that he’s healthy and back at the studio taping more scenes to continue the drama as the fallout from Cane’s lies and schemes continues to destroy his life.

Goddard has always been good about keeping his fans in the loop when it comes to these kinds of things, tweeting a selfie from the doctor’s office when he was suffering from bronchitis in March of 2016. And back in September of 2015, Goddard broke his elbow while shooting a fight scene for Y&R and just before Thanksgiving had to be rushed into emergency surgery when his body rejected the metal placed in his elbow! Thankfully, the actor seems able to keep a licking and keep on ticking!

We’re glad Goddard is on the mend, and can’t wait to see what happens next for Cane as his dramatic storyline continues! Stay tuned!

Cane and Lily are on the outs right now, but you can relive their happier moments in our special flashback gallery below!
