Chappell Leaving DAYS!

Crystal Chappell (Olivia, GUIDING LIGHT) has been let go from DAYS OF OUR LIVES, where she’s been playing the role of Carly since October 2009. “As I understand it, DOOL has decided not to renew my contract,” the actress confessed on the Twitter feed of her husband, Michael Sabatino (ex-Lawrence), last night. “I’m sad but grateful for the opportunity.”

The Emmy-winning actress returned to Salem within weeks of GL’s end two years ago; she was already taping episodes at DAYS before GL even aired its final episode. Even while working at the NBC soap, Chappell was able to make her Web series, VENICE, a popular hit. Along with hubby Sabatino, Chappell is now writing a new Web soap, titled THE GROVE. “I made new friends and got Venice up and running thanks to you,” she tweeted. “I wish DAYS much success. P.S. Not the new writers’ decision… Onward!”
