THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS Names Sally Sussman as New Headwriter!

Daytime’s top rated soap, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, has announced that Sally Sussman is their new headwriter!

After news broke that former Y&R head scribe, Chuck Pratt Jr., was heading up a new primetime series for FOX, fans wondered who would be taking his place. Sussman has an extensive history in both primetime and daytime, with stints on Y&R and DAYS OF OUR LIVES as well as creating the groundbreaking GENERATIONS for NBC.

“Sally was part of the team that first brought Y&R to its long-standing position as America’s #1 daytime drama and brings with her years of experience writing serialized storylines,” said Steve Kent, senior executive vice president of programming for Sony Pictures Television. “Her long-standing familiarity with the citizens of Genoa City and her great storytelling make her the perfect choice to take the reins at Y&R.”

New executive producer Mal Young’s influence has already been felt on screen for a while now, but at this time there’s been no information as to when Sussman’s scripts will begin airing. You’ll just have to stay tuned to see what changes she has in store!
