THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS Stars Joshua Morrow and Melissa Claire Egan Respond to Fan Outcry at Nick and Chelsea’s Kiss!

Some fans may have seen it coming, but when THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS’ Nick and Chelsea actually shared a passionate kiss, the internet exploded as viewers took sides! Nick’s portrayer, Joshua Morrow, found himself taken aback by the response by those who feel that Nick and Chelsea should still be mourning their lost loves.

“Apparently we are losing viewers due to Nick kissing Chelsea,” he tweeted. “LOL… Nick makes mistakes, right? Part of his charm, no? Forgiveness reigns, yes?”

His co-star responded on Twitter, jokingly referencing the classic storyline on BEVERLY HILLS 90210 where Dylan and Kelly hooked up behind Brenda’s back. “Speak for yourself!” Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea) posted. “I mean, Brenda was abroad! In France! Things happen while Sophie B. Hawkins plays in the background!”

Some fans noted that this is simply par for the course for the Newman heir, with one tweeting, “Who hasn’t Nick kissed?” Responded Morrow: “I am keeping a list… trying to make my way through Genoa City.”

But the actor has been in the business for decades, and understands that these kind of reactions are par for the course. “So for the three viewers that have sworn to never watch the show again,” he wrote, “you will be missed, and I hope we can catch your eye again.

“Lotta people professing their lifelong commitment to us,” Morrow added. “Boom! You are the reason we are on the air. We love you all! Thanks for being you!”

With Y&R currently on holiday break, Morrow is actually tweeting these responses while on vacation with his family. “Trying to survive these wintry conditions with my ladies,” he joked of a photo of his wife, Tobe, and their daughter, Charlie.
