THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS’ Max Page Hospitalized With Heart Infection

Tags:

Beloved THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS star Max Page (ex-Reed) is back in the hospital again with a heart infection, and his mom is asking for fans to help support his recovery with cards and letters!

On Jan. 10, Page’s mother, Jennifer, posted photos of her son in a medical helicopter and a hospital bed, revealing that he had been diagnosed with Endocarditis, an infection in his heart. She also reported that he was being treated at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and is already on the right track.

“It’s a long treatment with several weeks of IV antibiotics,” she wrote. “He feels great, thought the helicopter ride was cool, and has a tremendous attitude — just really bored! Please pray that the protocol works and he is back in action soon. Thanks for the friends who helped speed up diagnosis, admit and transfer. You were literally lifesavers.”

The following day, Page’s mom tweeted that “Max is on the mend” and would require a couple more weeks at the hospital. Page was born with a congenital heart defect and has undergone numerous surgeries, the most recent of which gave the young man a new heart valve and pacemaker.

Because Page will be in the hospital for a while, his mother asks fans to send cards or letters of support to: Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, 4650 Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles, CA, 90027, Max Page Room 2344. “He would love some good old-fashioned mail!” she wrote. “Appreciate all the love. Max has a support group that spreads far and wide and we appreciate all of you.”

Amelia Heinle (Victoria), who was Max’s on-screen mom when he was on Y&R, tweeted, “Please keep my Max in your thoughts and prayers as they work to fix his beautiful heart.”

And his on-screen grandma, Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki), added, “Everyone please pray for our precious Max. He is a one-of-a-kind hero. Love you!”

Page was recently replaced on Y&R when the soap aged the character to a teenager and cast Tristan Lake Leabu in the role. Viewers might also remember Page from the famous Volkswagon Super Bowl ad where he played a little boy dressed as Darth Vader trying to use The Force around his family’s house.
