THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS’ Michael Muhney Is “Optimistic” About His Son’s Heart Condition

Tags:

Actor Michael Muhney (ex-Adam, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS) worried his fans with a vague tweet about his child’s medical issue, but the next day had some much better news as his five-year-old son, Truman, seems to be okay after a problem with his heart valves was discovered. “Going through private pain and torment and fear as a parent on behalf of your child’s medical and heart issues is something I don’t wish on anyone,” Muhney posted. “Hug your kids close. Love your loved ones as much as you can. Life is short. Life is so very precious.”

He then later shared a couple of photos he snapped of Truman having an EKG and a sonogram done showing what a brave little boy he raised. In fact, it sounds as though Muhney was more shaken by the experience than his son.

Y&R fans immediately flooded Muhney’s twitter page with prayers and love as well as some stories of their own experiences to give him hope. One woman shared the story of her son, who was born with three holes in his heart and pulmonic valve stenosis but had successful open heart surgery and is now a healthy 11 year old. “I love you, Jen,” he responded. “Thank you so much for sharing this with me and my family.”

Munney was truly touched by the outpouring of love he’s received from fans online, and shared some better news the following day. “So kind to get the love and concern and the stories you’ve been sharing,” he said. “Tests are in, as of now, the specialists will be keeping an eye on Truman as his heart valves grow. But I feel like we are dodging a bullet and have good cause to be optimistic.”

Our thoughts are with the entire family during this time, and our hopes are for continued good health for Truman.
