THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS’ Melody Thomas Scott Reveals Why She’s Selling Her Personal Possessions to Fans! (EXCLUSIVE)

Fans of THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS now have the chance to bring a piece of soap history home with them because daytime star Melody Thomas Scott — who has played the legendary Nikki Newman since 1979 — is holding an extensive estate sale at EBTH.com! There are hundreds of items up for auction, and many of them will be recognizable to longtime viewers of the soap! “There are many things that Y&R fans will recognize and want to have as their very own!” the actress enthused to Soaps In Depth. “As fans may or may not know, I’ve often lent some of my personal items for Nikki to wear on the show.”

A portion of the proceeds from the auction sales will be donated to The Jane Goodall Institute. “I’ve always admired Jane Goodall,” Scott says of her choice of charity. “And when I read about The Jane Goodall Institute, my decision was made!”

The decision to do some remodeling in her home caused her to realize that it was past time for a clean out so she was inspired to have an online estate sale. “Our house was built in 1989 and the bathrooms and kitchen needed updating desperately!” Scott confided. “The plan was to demo all the bathrooms completely and start over. In order to do this, we had to empty all the bedrooms that they were attached to. We had to put all that furniture and clothing downstairs in the public rooms. It was obvious we had accumulated too much stuff over the years!”

And all that extra stuff is now up for sale to get it out of the house! “Hundreds of items of clothes, shoes, handbags, furniture, Barbie collection, anything you can think of!” Scott declared. “A lot of items still have the price tags on them!”

Scott also admitted that it wasn’t that difficult to part with her personal possessions once she started seeing the results. “Having been raised by a hoarder,” she confessed, “it was hard in the beginning. But when you start living in a big, open space, it’s heavenly!

“Absolutely cleaning the slate!” Scott concluded before joking: “Now I have room to buy more things!”

You can check out some of the items up for auction in Scott’s online estate sale at this link to her page, and all bids start at just one dollar, so who knows — you might find yourself a bargain! But don’t wait too long, because the sale ends on Sunday, Dec. 10!
