Don’t Miss Cane and Lily’s Final Episode Together on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS

Tags:

It’s the end of an era on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS and Daniel Goddard (Cane) wants to make sure that fans don’t miss it. The actor stunned his fans when he announced that he is leaving the soap, and now he urged “Lane” fans not to miss the Oct. 25 episode. “My dearest, beloved friends,” he shared on Instagram. “Tomorrow is the end of an era, and so we humbly invite you to join us in watching Y&R for Cane and Lily’s final episode together.”

It had already been announced that Christel Khalil would be reprising her role of Lily Winters in the Oct. 25 episode, having previously chosen not to renew her contract with Y&R to pursue other career opportunities. She has made occasional appearances on the soap since exiting, but with Goddard also leaving the soap in the near future, this episode will be the last one where the popular actors will appear in together.

Lily and Cane first met back in 2007 and although they were concerned about their age difference, the chemistry could not be denied. The couple withstood many obstacles, such as Chloe claiming her baby was Cane’s, the reveal that Cane wasn’t actually Phillip Chancellor III, and Lily’s ovarian cancer diagnosis. The couple married and had twins Charlie & Mattie with the help of Mac, who acted as their surrogate. Their relationship really took a hit when Cane was shot dead, but it turned out that it was his identical twin who had been killed.

Happiness was difficult to come by, with constant threats to their marriage, and ultimately, Lily split up with Cane after he had an affair — and a child — with co-worker Juliet. And when Lily was responsible for the car accident that killed Hilary, she chose to accept her fate and go to prison. Cane hoped for a reconciliation upon her release, but she remained intent on forging ahead with a new life on her own.

Will this truly be the end of Lily and Cane? Keep watching to find out, and for more Y&R news, keep reading the CBS edition of Soaps In Depth magazine.
