Justin Hartley and Chrishell Stause File for Divorce

Tags:

After two years of marriage, Justin Hartley (ex-Adam, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS) and Chrishell Stause Hartley (ex-Jordan, DAYS OF OUR LIVES) have filed for divorce. According to documents filed on Nov. 22 and acquired by People, Hartley is citing irreconcilable differences as the reason behind the split, and that he listed the date of separation as July 8, 2019. However, the pair has continued to appear together at events such as the Primetime Emmy Awards in September and a pre-Golden Globes party in November.

Hartley had previously been married to Lindsay Korman Hartley from 2004-2012; the two were co-stars on defunct NBC sudser PASSIONS where they played Fox and Theresa, respectively. They currently share joint custody of their daughter, 15-year-old Isabella. After Hartley began dating Stause, they announced their engagement in July 2016 and tied the knot in an intimate ceremony on Oct. 28, 2017 — four years to the day after they first met.

A source told People that while Stause wants to settle down and have kids, Hartley wants to pursue his career, having hit it big in primetime with his starring role on THIS IS US. “In many ways, they’re somewhat fundamentally incompatible,” they reported.

Neither actor has spoken out about the split yet, so stay tuned as the story continues to develop. For more on your favorite daytime stars — past and present — keep reading Soaps In Depth magazine.
