Jordi Vilasuso Reveals How Rey Really Feels About Sharon on Y&R

The sparks that have been flying between Rey and Sharon on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS had a little water poured over them by the sudden arrival of his wife, Mia. But even as the cop works out his issues with his estranged spouse, he just can’t resist his attraction to the blonde. “The more that Rey has gotten to know Sharon, the more he likes her,” Jordi Vilasuso explained to Soaps In Depth of his alter ego’s feelings. “She’s obviously beautiful — so there’s definitely an attraction there — but he’s found that she’s beautiful on the inside, too. He’s starting to have a really deep admiration for Sharon in addition to the attraction.”

Of course, Rey’s wife isn’t the only potential spoiler to a possible relationship — there’s also Sharon’s involvement in the cover-up of J.T.’s death, the crime which Rey himself is investigating! “It’s very interesting because they are playing this cat-and-mouse game with each other,” Vilasuso mused. “There are moments of attraction and admiration, but at the same time, underneath it all, there is the question, ‘Is she really playing me here?’ Rey knows that Sharon is smart, but I believe that he thinks he has the ball in this game.

“But as the story goes on and Rey and Sharon get to know each other more,” he added with a laugh, “the layers are peeled off and there are times when he’s like, ‘Why did you say that? Why are you so interested in this?’ He’s probably hoping the closer he gets to her, she’ll just confess everything!”

And when the truth about what Sharon (and Victoria and Nikki and Phyllis) did comes out, that could seriously change how Rey feels about her… or will it? “That’s an interesting question,” Vilasuso admitted. “Rey is super passionate about his job. But he’s walking a tricky line. We’ll see what happens!”
