THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL‘s Karla Mosley (Maya) sat down with Soaps In Depth to chat about her alter ego’s past, present and future!

Professionally at the top of her game, married to the man of her dreams and expecting a baby via surrogacy, Maya kicked off the New Year with a sense that all her dreams are finally coming to fruition. Is she naïve to think it will be sunshine and lollipops from here on out?

“I do think she’s being a bit naïve,” Mosley admits. “She is really grateful and incredibly excited, but I think problems are going to be inevitable. I’m as curious as the viewers are to know where all of this is going, but with everything happening in the Avant family right now, we are in for an interesting ride!”

She also believes Maya has been shaped by the tumultuous, touching and, ultimately, triumphant path the character has navigated on the show.

“Whereas a year ago, this was a character who was all over the place, in the last year we’ve got a much clearer sense of who she is,” says the actress. “I think her being transgender is the piece of information that has brought all of that together.”
