Jordan on THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL — Everything You Need to Know

Tags:

Daytime Emmy winner Vincent Irizarry has joined the cast of THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL in the role of Dr. Jordan Armstrong! “So glad to be working on this wonderful show!” the actor tweeted when the news broke. The soap-hopper made his B&B debut on Aug. 26 as a doctor at the hospital where Thomas was brought after his fall off a cliff! Of course, you don’t cast a soap vet like Irizarry to play any old doctor, so we’d expect Jordan to play a major role in the storyline as it continues going forward!

Irizarry got his start in daytime back in 1983 playing Lujack on GUIDING LIGHT, a role which earned him his first Daytime Emmy Award nomination in 1985. He then moved on to play Scott on NBC sudser SANTA BARBARA from 1987-89. After that, he returned to GL to play Lujack’s twin, Nick, from 1991-96. Irizarry joined the cast of ABC’s ALL MY CHILDREN as David in 1997, even crossing over to sister soap ONE LIFE TO LIVE for a brief appearance. He earned two more Emmy nominations and his first win for Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2009. After his run on AMC ended in 2006, the actor played another David, this time on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS. That character was killed off in 2008, at which time he returned to AMC where he remained until the soap’s final episode in 2011, even appearing in the short-lived online version in 2013. In 2015, Irizarry joined the cast of DAYS OF OUR LIVES as the evil Deimos, where he earned a 2017 Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Lead Actor.

Although there are no details as to how long Irizarry’s stint on B&B is meant to be, the actor told TV Insider he’d love to stick around. “There may be some other ailing people who need a doctor on the show!” he joked. “I love working. I love the medium. I love that stories go from week to week and month to month. It’s exciting to me.”
