THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL’s Pierson Fodé Opens up About His Serious Health Scare

Tags:

After a serious health scare, Pierson Fodé (ex-Thomas, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL) is happy to report that he’s very much alive and well now. He shared a photo to his Instagram page where you can clearly see a small square object on his chest through his shirt to explain what it was. “I’m not dead!” Fodé enthused. “I’m actually quite far from it now. Although over the last month-and-a-half I managed to have a few beers and ponder life with ol’ Grim Reaper.

“I wasn’t going to share anything,” he continued, “but that damn little square in my shirt was in so many photos. It keeps reminding me that maybe this can give someone else in a similar state hope. This photo sums up the feeling. That square was a heart monitor for the doctors to track blackouts related to brain trauma. Exciting, I know. Maybe one day I’ll make a film about it. Imagine if every day your life was like the love child of Memento and a drug-free Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Talk about a fun rom-com.”

Fodé went on to express his gratitude not only for his renewed outlook on life, but for all the support he received during his ordeal. “I just wanted to say how grateful I am to be back to myself,” he wrote. “Thankful for everyone that reached out, even if I was unable to respond. Grateful for my friends and family who encouraged me and gave me hope along the way (that was very needed). Grateful to the doctors. Grateful for the life I get to live. Our life here is short. Be sure you don’t take it too seriously, cut out the negative, and have a damn good time while you’re at it.”

Fodé took over the role of Thomas Forrester in 2015, earning two Daytime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Younger Actor during his run. He last appeared on B&B in the spring of 2018. His most recent work was playing Chad in GLAMOROUS, a pilot for a new drama series for the CW network starring Peyton List and Brooke Shields.

We’re glad to hear that Fodé is doing better, and hopefully, his words can inspire hope in other people going through scary times. For more on your favorite B&B stars — past and present — keep reading the CBS edition of Soaps In Depth magazine.
