Heather Tom Reveals How Her Son Found Out He’d Been Recast on B&B (EXCLUSIVE)

Actress and mom Heather Tom (Katie, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL) is glad her son, Zane, was able to play her on-screen son, Will, when he was younger, but regrets how he found out he’d been recast. Given that Zane was entering school full time, the actress figured it was no big deal to have him bow out of the B&B role and let another child actor take it on.

But when Zane eventually spied the new Will (played by Finnegan George) when his mom was catching up on an episode, he was perplexed. “He was like, ‘But I’m Will! I’m Will!’” the actress recalled to Soaps In Depth. “I reached for the remote to turn the TV off, and I was like, ‘You’re right. You’re Will. You are Will. But a different Will.’ Then he turned to me and said, ‘Why did you fire me from my job?!’” Tom admitted it was one of those mom moments she wishes she could redo. “I scarred him for life,” she joked. “He’s going to be in therapy when he’s 35 saying that his mom got him fired from his first job!”
