B&B Producer Colleen Bell Appointed Director of California Film Commission

Please join us on congratulating Colleen Bell to her new appointment as director of the California Film Commission. The former producer of THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL — and wife of the soap’s executive producer and headwriter, Bradley Bell — has replaced Amy Lemisch in the position.

Bell was appointed by Governor Gavin Newsom on May 23, and will oversee a $330-million annual tax incentive program aimed at keeping film and television in California. Recently, Hollywood has faced competition from states like New York and Georgia offering their own incentives to filmmakers.

Since 2017, Bell has worked as a consultant for the commission. Before that, she was the U.S. ambassador to Hungary from 2014-17. In addition to her producer role on B&B, Bell has held several positions at Bell-Phillip Television Productions, including director of special projects and script supervisor.
