Lloyd Takes On Big Screen Roles!

Writers/producers/directors Ethan and Joel Coen — collectively known in Hollywood as The Coen Brothers — are known for their movies like Fargo, The Big Lebowski, True Grit, Burn After Reading and a slew of other big-screen hits. But starting Thursday, July 21, the brothers’ films will be the latest subject matter of For The Record — a series of shows featuring live performances of soundtracks used in films of different directors at the Vermont Kitchen & Bar in Los Feliz, CA. And THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL star Kristolyn Lloyd (Dayzee) will be one of the performers entertaining the crowds! “They’ve done a John Hughes one, a Baz Luhrman one… They asked me to do the one for the Coen Brothers, and I was like, ”Heck, yes!'” the actress tells Soaps In Depth.

The shows take place in the restaurant’s Barre room, a cabaret-style music hall where performers act out scenes and belt out tunes from the featured director’s movies while guests sip cocktails and dine. One of Lloyd’s big numbers is singing Dionne Warwick‘s “Do You Know The Way To San Jose?,” which was featured in Fargo. “I put on a big, sparkly dress and sing that song,” she says with a smile. “It’s really fun. Then you do actual scenes from the movies. You go there, you have dinner, you drink and you watch the performers.”

For The Record features a rotating cast. “The cast is always different, and we’re always working with different people in different shows,” says Lloyd. “If it works out with the B&B schedule, I’d love to do more!”

For The Record – Coen Brothers is scheduled to run Thursdays through Saturdays until September 24. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit www.showtimeatbarre.com. Lloyd will be performing approximately once a weekend. To find out her schedule, check her Facebook fan page for updates!
