The Truth About Lani’s Placenta Previa Diagnosis on DAYS OF OUR LIVES

In case Lani didn’t have enough to worry about on DAYS OF OUR LIVES, the expectant mother has just received the bad news that she is suffering from placenta previa. But thankfully, while this condition can be seriously dangerous for both mother and child, Lani could still deliver a healthy baby. She’s just going to have to be very careful for the rest of her pregnancy.

Lani was already under a lot of stress because the baby she is carrying isn’t J.J.’s, but Eli’s, and when the truth about her babydaddy finally came out, her life was turned upside down. J.J. wanted nothing more to do with her, but Eli stood by her, even as Lani suffered abdominal cramps and rushed to the hospital. After running some tests, Kayla revealed that Lani’s pregnancy is high-risk because she is suffering from placenta previa and requires bed rest for the remainder of her pregnancy.

Placenta previa is a rare but serious condition where the placenta covers the opening in a mother’s cervix. It can cause severe bleeding during the pregnancy and delivery, which can put both the mother and child in danger. While it is not associated with miscarriages, placenta previa does increase the risk of preterm birth and infant death. Bed rest is recommended in this condition, and a C-section is often needed to ensure a healthy birth.

Lani has asked Val to be the person who tells her the truth during this difficult time, but hopefully as her pregnancy progresses the doctor won’t have any more bad news to deliver and Lani and Eli can welcome a healthy baby into the world.
