Heinle Surprised Again By Emmy Nomination!

Tags:

Amelia Heinle (Victoria, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS) is currently in the mountains of Georgia visiting her sister, so she found out she had been nominated for a Daytime Emmy in the Supporting Actress category via a text message! “I’m so honored,” she declares. “This is cool!”

Last year, the actress admitted to us she was surprised to earn the nomination that led to her eventual win because she didn’t feel she had a lot of material to choose from, and this year seems no different for her. “I didn’t know how the whole things works,” Heinle confesses, “and now being involved in the process and voting and everything… this is my second year voting and I’m starting to understand how it works. This year I don’t have a lot. the pickings were slim. So I’m even more surprised this year!”

To earn the nomination, Heinle submitted the show featuring the anniversary of Delia’s death. “It was a complete show so I just picked that, because I couldn’t find anything else,” she admits. “When you look back at a body of work over a year, sometimes you have a lot of great work and sometimes you just have to listen to your instinct and what that tells you.

“I talked to [my husband] Thad [Luckinbill, ex-J.T.] about it,” she adds, “and he picked something totally different. I was like, I am not submitting that!”

Heinle is thrilled to see former castmate Billy Miller *(ex-Billy, now GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Jake/Jason) earn a nod for his part in the Delia storyline as well as *Elizabeth Hendrickson (ex-Chloe), even if they’re competing in the same category again. “If she wins, I will be extremely happy,” Heinle insists. “She did such a great job and she’s such a sweet, sweet girl. And that was a tough competition last year. I’m shocked that I won. I thought she really deserved it!”
