Matthew Ashford Teases His Return to Days of Our Lives

Now that DAYS OF OUR LIVES fans know that Matthew Ashford is returning to the soap as Jack Deveraux, the only questions are when will he arrive, and what will his storyline be? Well, judging from the Winter Preview video that DAYS shared, it looks as though Jack will be a surprise guest at a gala New Year’s Eve party. But how is he still alive and why has he come back to Jennifer and Salem? “Yes, I am back on DAYS,” Ashford said in a video taped at Starstruck YesterDAYS 2018. “It’s not airing yet, but someday soon.” Then he smiled and teased, “Maybe as soon as the new year.”

Unfortunately, the actor isn’t revealing any of the storyline details regarding how Jack survived the elevator crash or what brings him back to Salem. “We’re still not talking or giving storyline but it’s going to be really good,” Ashford promised. “In fact, probably better for me — and hopefully better for you — than it has been in years and years and years. It’s really good stuff!”

Ashford is also happy to be back home in Salem with TV family like Melissa Reeves (Jennifer) and Casey Moss (JJ) as well as back on screen for the DAYS fans who have never forgotten him or Jack. “I’m really happy with the people I”m working with,” he enthused. “They’re incredible. And the writing is really fun. It’s popping. And I just want to thank all of you for sticking with me and sticking with the show and just being so supportive for years and years.”
