Greg Rikaart Lands a Role on MODERN FAMILY

Tags:

Fans of Greg Rikaart will be happy to know that they’re going to get a little more of the popular and talented actor on TV when he guest-stars on MODERN FAMILY! “After all the comas I’ve been in it’s nice to be on this side of the bed,” he quipped on Instagram. “Thanks for the insanely lovely and warm welcome, MODERN FAMILY!”

Rikaart is referring to the fact that his Instagram photo shows the call sheet for his episode of the hit ABC sitcom as well as his character’s prop hospital ID card. This time, instead of a patient, Rikaart will be playing the doctor. An OBGYN, as a matter of fact! Which is good, because this season, the character of Haley Dunphy is expecting twins. Perhaps Rikaart’s doc will be the one to deliver the babies?

Rikaart found fame playing Kevin Fisher on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS and fans of that soap were sad when the character was written out, although many have followed him over to NBC sudser DAYS OF OUR LIVES, where he is currently playing the character of conniving con man Leo Stark. (In fact, Rikaart was recently reunited with his Y&R mom, Judith Chapman, who recently began playing Leo’s mom, Diana, on DAYS!)

This episode of MODERN FAMILY won’t be the first time Rikaart has moonlighted in primetime, either. During his stint on Y&R, the actor made appearances on shows like THE CLOSER, CSI: MIAMI, BONES, and MAJOR CRIMES.

There’s no air date for Rikaart’s episode of MODERN FAMILY yet, but we’ll be sure to let you know so you can tune in! And for more news on your favorite daytime stars, keep reading the CBS edition of Soaps In Depth magazine!
