DAYS OF OUR LIVES Star Drake Hogestyn’s Mother Dies

Over the holidays, Drake Hogestyn (John, DAYS OF OUR LIVES) sadly reported that his mother, Shug, had died.

“We’ve all lost some great ones lately,” he tweeted with a beautiful photo of his mom in her bridal gown. “I just lost the greatest. Love you, Mom.”

The loss of his mother comes just weeks after his dear friend and former DAYS castmate Joseph Mascolo (Stefano) passed away. “The Phoenix will rise,” Hogestyn wrote. “R.I.P. Joe, we love you.”

Back in November, Hogestyn also shared a photo of himself with the late BRADY BUNCH star, Florence Henderson, declaring, “We’re gonna miss her.”

Our hearts go out to Hogestyn. Losing a parent is awful, but over the holiday season is even more painful. Our thoughts are with him and his entire family during this difficult time.
