Alison Sweeney Previews Her New Movie, ‘Christmas at Holly Lodge’
It’s time for the holiday season, and the Hallmark Channel is premiering over 30 seasonal movies in a festival that began at the end of October! And while DAYS OF OUR LIVES fans are enjoying having Alison Sweeney back in Salem, they can also enjoy her in the new film, Christmas at Holly Lodge, premiering Sunday, Dec. 3! “I’m so thrilled about this movie!” the actress told Soaps In Depth. “It was so fun to develop because from day one we knew we had some great characters to fall in love with and entertaining Christmas fun. I think the cast is fantastic and we embraced the idea of holiday magic.”

In the movie, Sweeney plays Sophie Bennett, who is beginning a new tradition of spending the holidays at the Evergreen Inn and Ski Lodge, which she inherited from her parents. The resort has become a home-away-from-home for many people who either can’t make it home for the holidays or have had such special memories of the place they can’t imagine spending the season anywhere else. And this Christmas, Sophie meets a family that she will never forget because they will change her life forever. “I love the role of Sophie,” Sweeney enthused. “I think she’s a fun character, in fact, she sort of reminds me of Sami. If Sami were in a Hallmark Channel movie, this would be her. It struck a chord with me from the beginning, this idea that the Holly Lodge brings people together who don’t have family to be with during the holidays. They make their own Christmas traditions, which is such a lovely idea and I was excited to bring it to life.”
The cast of Christmas at Holly Lodge also includes Sheryl Lee Ralph (Laura, SEARCH FOR TOMORROW), Toby Levins, and Jordan Bridges. The holiday film is directed by Jem Garrard. Ralph even shared some selfies with her castmates and some backstage pics of the holiday decorations on the set!

But the star had her movie family on hand, and shared a super-cute video of them singing to her! “The crew sending me some birthday love on set the other day,” Sweeney wrote. “Loved this so much. Thanks, everyone!”
